What a genius!

Blackburn fan Eddie Maxwell, take a bow!

After watching Wayne Rooney scored the 73rd minute Penalty that sealed Manchester United's 19th championship title this fan saw an opportunity. He contacted the club and the head groundsman and asked permission to dig up the penalty spot from the end where Rooney scored and the club granted him this act as the whole turf was getting dug up anyway.

Mr Maxwell decided to sell his prized spot of grass on eBay and this is getting mentioned on Football According To Coops as the bidding for the turf has just gone past... £1million pounds! Eddie has been keeping the grass in tip-top shape and hand cutting it with scissors to give it the same look it did when United won the game. I think this was a brilliant idea and one of the most amazing stories of 'how I became a millionnaire' I've ever heard!

And to top it all off, Eddie said he is going to put pretty much all of the money he gets into his local club. What a legend. They are going to become the Manchester City of the Sunday league world!
