Manchester United Set For Phil Jones Signing

Blackburn centre back Phil Jones is set to join champions Manchester United for a fee estimated to be around £16million. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson managed to beat the challenges of Kenny Dalglish and Arsene Wenger in order to acquire the services of the player most have earmarked as 'one for the future'.

The England Under 21's centre half had his medical on wednesday and is due to be confirmed as a United player very soon. This has been a meteoric rise in fame for the youngster as he only made his debut for Blackburn in March last year but definitely had a big impact in first season at the club leading to three big clubs taking a major interest in him.

I believe this is a very smart purchase for Sir Alex as I feel that Jones will be able to develop even more under his guidance as he is only 19 and still has a lot to learn. With United also having an ageing defence I think that planning for the future is a good idea and buying good young players with an aim to break into the team in future years can only benefit the Manchester Club.

I think this could be Fergie's idea for the future:

Then, in a 3-4 years time:

I believe the future is looking bright for Manchester United and Fergie is fully preparing the club for when he leaves by bringing players he feels can lead the club for more successes in the future.
