What They Need

What teams need new signings? and who exactly should they bring in?

CHELSEA
What they need
Pretty much a revamp of the whole squad - new blood to boost a stale and ageing side. Specifically, they need a right-back worthy of a title push, new energy and flair in central midfield, a goalscoring midfielder to replace Frank Lampard in the long term, genuine width and possibly another striker if they can get someone like Romelu Lukaku before his value goes dramatically or Neymar before he gets snapped up by Madrid , although I don't think that won't be the priority unless Didier Drogba follows through on all those rumours and leaves Stamford Bridge.
There's been talk of Wesley Sneijder as well as Neymar, Alexis Sanchez and Luka Modric - all young-ish, all exciting, all vibrant potential signings. But they also need a couple of bread-and-butter players - at right-back and in central midfield where Michael Essien and John Obi Mikel were surprisingly (and less surprisingly) ineffective last season. The emphasis has to be on relative youth allied with experience - a pattern established in January with the signings of David Luiz and Fernando Torres, who I believe will both improve with the benefit of a full pre-season with the team.

LIVERPOOL
What they need
Liverpool fans may disagree - they usually do - but they primarily need a left-back, better cover at centre-half for an ageing Jamie Carragher, at least one winger and possibly a spare striker. After signing Jordan Henderson I think are sorted for the middle of the park with Gerrard, Meireles, Suarez and Lucas all battling for places . Priority must be to build a left side - playing Glen Johnson out of position at left-back is not the long-term answer, I personally still think that Johnson is more talented that the young lad Kelly who played a bit last season, and Paul Konchesky is not the any-term answer. Whether Dalglish intends to play a 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or a 4-2-3-1, he is definitely missing someone down the left wing who needs to possess genuine pace, width and delivery for the noggin of Andy Carroll, Steward Downing's name has been mentioned time after time and I feel he would do a decent enough job down that flank for Liverpool. Also a spare striker needs to be brought in for back-up for when the noggin of Andy Carroll is unavailable.

WEST HAM
 What they need
A mass exodus should occur at Upton Park this summer with many of the club's players wanting to make a return to the premier league with a new club so new manager needs to start making signings to account for the potential losses of our star players such as Scott Parker, Demba Ba, Robert Green and Matthew Upson. For that reason I believe that the Hammer's need to bring in a new striker, a centre midfielder, a new left back to replace Wayne Bridge and someone as a bit of cover at centre back for James Tomkins and Manuel Da Costa. A striker that can score 20+ goals is a must have for a team hoping for promotion in the Championship and I believe Demba Ba would be able to score 20+ easily but sadly I think he is too good for us to keep. Someone such as DJ Campbell would be able to do an effective Job though. To replace Scott Parker someone like Alan Smith or blackpool's David Vaughn would be ideal as they can do a similar Job to Parker's in the West Ham midfield. With Wayne Bridge definitely returning to Man City a new left back will have to be found. A resolute defender should be wanted instead of an attacking wing back as the Hammers main issue last year was shipping goals at the back so by defending better more success should be had. This is why another centre half should be brought in to sure up the defence.
