Possible 2012 GB Olympic Football Team?
After the apparent agreement between the British Countries to form a GB team at the 2012 Olympics in London I'm going to show a potential team that could turn out for us next year in the nation's capital:
Formation - 4-4-2
Manager - Harry Redknapp
1. Joe Hart - ENG
2. Kyle Walker - ENG
3. Gareth Bale - WAL
6. Chris Smalling - ENG
5. Phil Jones - ENG
7. David Beckham (C) - ENG
4. Jack Wilshere - ENG
8. Aaron Ramsey - WAL
11. Ashley Young - ENG
9. Andy Caroll - ENG
10. Wayne Rooney - ENG
Overall a very young side apart from one main exception and obviously the majority of the players representing the team would be English and the world rankings show we have the strongest side. I believe there would definitely be a place for Gareth Bale either as a left back or left winger and Aaron Ramsey should be considered as I feel he has a lot of potential. As Beckham help win the 2012 bid I feel this would be an appropriate ending for a legend such as him by turning out in one last tournament and hopefully adding an Olympic gold medal to his already overflowing trophy case. I am very interested to see if any other players from Wales, Ireland, Scotland or Northern Island make the squad as I could not see hardly anyone making the squad apart from possibly Craig Bellamy, Shane Long, Darren Fletcher and Charlie Adam. Bring on 2012!
