Alexis Sanchez is a 22 year old Chilean international winger who is currently playing for Serie A team Udinese.
He first caught the eye of potential buyers with a number of quality performances at the 2010 World Cup where Chile made it through to the last 16.
Since then he has enjoyed his best campaign to date, scoring 12 goals in 31 games and helping Udinese to a Champions League place.
He is currently linked with a number of Europe's elite, with Manchester United, Inter Milan, Barcalona and Real Madrid after him, oh and big spending Manchester City are in the chase as well. Apparently United are the firm favourites to land the player and this can only be a benefit to the Champions and to the Premier League.
Sanchez play as an out-and-out winger or in a classic number 10 role behind the strikers and has seemingly brought success to his team wherever he has played.
Hinted to be the next 'Cristiano Ronaldo' Sanchez loves a step-over and has been credited for his amazing dribbling ability and wide range of skills to torment defenders. After watching a few videos of him on the internet I can safely say that he is due a lot of credit as he is definitely not afraid to take on a defender.
Is he really tough enough for the Premier League? South Americans have been hit and miss in the premier league with players such as Carlos Tevez thriving in the English top division whereas Uruguayan Diego Forlan failed at United. At just 5ft 6" he may have a bit of trouble with big solid defenders but with his rapid speed and dazzling foot speed the defenders will have to catch him first!
Would definitely love to the see this man in England playing for United or City, would bring real excitement to stadiums around the country. Best of luck to the small winger with a big future.
For anyone who fancies checking out just what this man can do I would recommend this video:
Enjoy,
